About Kinesis Design
After completing his Architectural Degree in India in the year 2000, Dev Kulkarni established Kinesis Design in 2010. With over 20 years of experience, Dev’s portfolio now includes several small to large-scale residential and commercial projects in India and UAE. Dev is an Internationally trained Architect, and a Project Management Professional (PMP®). He is a Qualified Designer and has a BCIN(Small Buildings) Certification in Ontario. Kinesis Design Inc. is registered with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in Ontario.

Since 2015, Kinesis Design Inc. started operating from Brampton, Ontario, and later moved to Oshawa, ON. Kinesis Design has worked on wide range of projects across GTA. Kinesis Design offers Architectural as well as Interior Design services for New Custom Homes, Town Houses, Commercial low-rise Buildings, Restaurants, and Offices. Kinesis Design also work in tandem with Licensed Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Landscape consultants on various projects across GTA.

I contacted Dev for drawings for a Garden Suite rental I was building and to help with issues raised by the City.
(The first designer I hired almost caused more issues that were resolved, so I required an expert in seeing drawings through to permit issuance. )
Dev is an architect and BCIN, so he has excellent insight into design and building code. He immediately provided assurance the issues the city raised were solvable and a permit would be granted.
Dev reviewed plans and made modifications that were technically onside for the city but also very practical. Due to his insight, I was able to expand the footprint of the unit, add a second floor that was more livable and maximize light, all creating a better rental unit. Dev also suggested a structural design change which led to the structural engineer modifying his plans to make framing easier and less complicated. To have an architect who thinks beyond design is extremely valuable and cost effective as well.
Equally important, Dev makes himself available. He answered calls and emails in short turnaround - never once did it seem it was a bother when I proposed ideas or discussed code issues. After a few more questions from the city, the permit was issued. First person I called was Dev to thank him for his work.

To start making your first home is one of the most challenging decisions for anyone and even more challenging is the decision to finalize the people who are going to plan and execute it for you - your architects and interior designers. When we wanted to select an architect and designer for our house, we wanted to make sure that we find someone who can understand us, and that’s how we met and finalized Dev.
It has been a great experience working with Dev and his team. Their eye for detail and overall commitment to the project was superb. The best thing about them was that they are very receptive to any changes, alterations, or suggestions from our side. And every time they come up with a change, it has always surprised us (in a good way) and has always brought in a different outlook/design. It was a long journey for us, as being a large house, it took almost 2.5-3 years to complete the project. The passion and commitment remained the same throughout this period and the brainstorming sessions were continuous in making the project what it is today.
